Columbia’s holistic wellness movement is gaining momentum with Corazon Holistic Health’s community yoga program taking center stage at the Columbia Museum of Art. This free wellness initiative, generously supported by Healthy Blue, brings expert-led yoga sessions to the public in one of the city’s most inspiring cultural spaces. Under the guidance of Juliet Hewitt, an E-RYT 500 certified instructor and yoga program manager at Corazon’s Main Street location, participants can take part in a well-designed practice suitable for both newcomers and experienced yogis.

What makes this program particularly significant is its commitment to accessibility. By removing financial barriers through Healthy Blue’s sponsorship, the program invites community members from all walks of life to experience the benefits of holistic wellness practices. Hewitt’s extensive training and experience ensure participants receive expert instruction in a welcoming environment that celebrates each person’s unique wellness journey. The partnership between a local health provider, cultural institution, and wellness expert represents a growing recognition of holistic health’s importance in community wellbeing.

The upcoming wellness event on Friday, July 25, 2025, promises to be a refreshing start to the day, running from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at the Columbia Museum of Art. Participants will be guided through fundamental yoga poses with careful attention to proper alignment, complemented by variations of sun salutations to build strength and flexibility. The thorough session also incorporates essential breathwork techniques and meditation practices, creating a balanced approach that addresses both physical and mental well-being. This before-work practice offers a perfect opportunity for Columbia residents to energize their bodies and calm their minds before tackling their daily responsibilities.

Those interested in joining should come prepared with comfortable clothing and any personal props they might need for relaxation portions of the class, such as pillows or blankets. While yoga mats will be provided courtesy of the program, participants are welcome to bring their own if preferred. The class welcomes adults and teens ages 15 and up, though minors must be accompanied by an adult. This thoughtfully organized event reflects the growing sophistication of Columbia’s wellness culture, where mindful movement practices are increasingly recognized as valuable components of overall health and community connection.
